March 31 2010 - May 5 2010
Location: UFCW Local 371 290 Post Road. Westport, Ct.
Time: 6:30 - 8:30 PM
The Fairfield Labor Council under the leadership of Tom Wilkinson and the UConn Labor Center are offering you an opportunity to learn more about your labor movement and what you can do to make it more successful. This marks the first time the Fairfield Labor Council has sponsored a six meeting Labor School on topics of current interest in conjunction with the UConn. Offered by the UConn Labor Center, it will be a hands-on experience with plenty of opportunity for everyone to be both introduced and improve the wide array of skills needed to succeed in today’s environment. The evening class will be divided into two sections each lasting 50 minutes. The first part of the evening will be on the role and responsibilities of union representatives who handle grievances and other problems. In the second 50 minute class we will be looking at a wide array of topics; here is the schedule for the Fairfield Labor Council School. Each evening we will have two topics that will be addressed. The first 50 minute session will focus on the role and responsibilities of union representatives in handling grievances. The second will cover a wide array of topics, including labor history, leadership development and getting your members more involved. For those who complete the program there will be a certificate presented by the UConn Labor Center. Please see President Kevin Cothran for more information.
